Is now called\u00a0 Entrepreneur Immigration (EI) Regional Stream.<\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">June 21, 2024.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Francophone Minority Communities Student Pilot (FMCSP)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/08\/breaking-francophone-students-to-have-direct-path-to-permanent-residence-under-irccs-new-pilot-program-0845792.html#gs.iiycdj\">FMCSP<\/a>\u00a0was launched on August 26, 2024, as a flagship measure of the Policy on Francophone Immigration.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This program aims to attract and retain French-speaking international students who wish to settle in Canada permanently by providing graduates a direct pathway from temporary to permanent status.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Pilot program participants will also benefit from access to settlement services while they are studying.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Details and eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To be eligible, participants need to meet the following criteria:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be a citizen of an eligible country.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Have a letter of acceptance from a participating designated learning institution (DLI) that says they&#8217;re applying under the FMCSP.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be enrolled in a study program that meets the requirements of the pilot.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Have enough money to pay for tuition fees and living expenses for themselves and family members who come with them to Canada.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Live outside Canada when they apply.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Get a medical exam (if needed).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Get a police certificate (if needed).<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Score a level 5 or higher in all abilities in the Niveaux de comp\u00e9tence linguistique canadiens (NCLC) scale.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Depending on where they&#8217;re applying from, they may also need to provide other documents.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Welcoming Francophone Communities Initiative<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Earlier this year, IRCC announced that it would be expanding its\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/11\/pilot-programs-offer-alternate-pathways-to-pr-for-quebec-temporary-residents-1148281.html#gs.iiybt8\">Welcoming Francophone Community Initiative<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The initiative supports the immigration of French-speaking newcomers to specific francophone and Acadian communities outside Quebec.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Prior to its expansion, this initiative included 14 francophone and Acadian communities. IRCC expanded the program to include 10 more communities across six provinces in August 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Under this initiative, these communities are given funding by IRCC to provide settlement plans, and services such as language training and employment advice, and arrange community events to help newcomers integrate into the communities.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Details and eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Details about candidate eligibility in the new communities have not yet been announced.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Alberta Law Enforcement Pathway<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On June 25, 2024, the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/alberta-provincial-nominee-program.html\">Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP)<\/a>\u00a0launched a new immigration pathway for those working in law enforcement.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Details and Eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Candidates must have a job offer from an employer with membership in the Alberta Association of Chiefs of Police (AACP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This job offer must be for one of the eligible occupations:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Commissioned and non-commissioned police officers.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Related occupations in public protection services.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Police investigators and other investigative occupations.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Specialized law enforcement occupations.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Since this is an\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\">Express Entry<\/a>\u00a0aligned stream, candidates must also meet all the other Express Entry criteria.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The province allocated 50 nominations to this pathway in 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Quebec\u2019s Skilled Worker Selection Program<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Earlier this year, it was announced that the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/10\/quebec-pauses-two-major-permanent-resident-pathways-1047888.html#gs.iiygxx\">Skilled Worker Selection Program<\/a>\u00a0(PSTQ) would replace\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/quebec-skilled-worker-immigration.html\">Quebec\u2019s Regular Skilled Worker Program (PRTQ)<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Skilled Worker Selection Program offers a pathway for people to live and work in Quebec permanently.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It differs from the previous program through an increased focus on French language proficiency and Quebec values.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It has four streams:<\/span><\/p>\n<table width=\"661\">\n<tbody>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Streams<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Whom it is for<\/strong><\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Highly qualified and specialized skills<\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Workers with a knowledge of French whose main occupation is category F\u00c9ER 0, 1, or 2.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Intermediate and manual skills<\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Workers with a knowledge of French whose main occupation is category F\u00c9ER 3, 4 or 5.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Regulated professionals<\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Workers with a knowledge of French whose profession falls within the regulated professions list (those requiring a license to practice in Quebec)<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<tr>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Exceptional talent<\/span><\/td>\n<td><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Workers who have distinguished themselves in their occupations through exceptional expertise that is likely to contribute to Quebec\u2019s prosperity. They also need to have practiced their occupation for at least three years out of five prior to the date of application.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Details and eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To qualify for any PSTQ stream, you must not only meet the criteria specific to that stream, but must also meet general eligibility requirements:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be 18 years or older.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Intend to settle in Qu\u00e9bec and take up employment.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Be capable of performing the job you\u2019re applying for<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Sign a Financial Self-Sufficiency Contract, proving you can support yourself and any accompanying family members for three months after arriving in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Obtain a certificate of learning democratic and Qu\u00e9bec values, including for any family members aged 18 or older.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Comply with any return conditions if you have a scholarship in Qu\u00e9bec.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The exceptional talent stream is the only stream that does not require knowledge of French.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">*There are certain restrictions on employment such as not being on behalf of a company where you have legal or de factor control, or being in fields such as payday loans, adult entertainment industry, and pawnbroking.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">To apply to receive a Quebec Selection Certificate (CSQ) under this stream, candidates must enter the Arrima pool, and be drawn from the pool to receive an invitation to apply from the Quebec immigration ministry.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The PSTQ has suspended issuing Invitations to Apply until June 30, 2025. It is expected to start inviting candidates after that date.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">PEQ Graduates Stream<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Earlier this year, it was announced that the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/quebec-experience-class-canadian-immigration.html\">Quebec Experience Program (PEQ)<\/a>\u00a0would undergo significant updates.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">PEQ offers a pathway for temporary workers and international graduates to transition to permanent residence in Quebec. It has two streams: one for Quebec graduates and one for temporary foreign workers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Starting November 23, only programs where 75% of courses or credits are completed in French are eligible for the PEQ Graduates stream.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The Quebec government announced that it would be reducing the number of Quebec Selection Certificates (CSQs) to PEQ graduates in 2025 \u2013 from a projected 14,500 in 2024 to a target of 4,500 in 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Details and eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The graduate stream of the PEQ has been paused. It will reopen on June 30, 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In-Canada focus category<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-immigration-levels-plans.html\">Immigration Levels Plan 2025-27<\/a>, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) announced that 40% of the planned admission spaces for 2025 will be allocated to applicants already residing in Canada through the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/10\/how-irccs-new-immigration-levels-plan-prioritizes-in-canada-candidates-1047830.html#gs.iiyj5u\">In-Canada focus category<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In 2025, this is planned to equate to 82,980 dedicated admission spaces in the category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The introduction of this category is in line with the federal government\u2019s decision to prioritize domestic candidates for PR.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Details and eligibility<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The In-Canada Focus category primarily encompasses admissions from the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canadian-experience-class.html\">Canadian Experience Class<\/a>\u00a0(CEC) in addition to regional pathways.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">It may also come from the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/federal-skilled-worker-program-fswp.html\">Federal Skilled Worker Program<\/a>\u00a0(FSWP) and the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/canada-federal-skilled-trades-program-fstc.html\">Federal Skilled Trades Program<\/a>\u00a0(FSTP).<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Candidates would need to have eligible\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/express-entry.html\">Express Entry<\/a>\u00a0profiles at the time of an immigration draw and be non-Permanent Resident (NPR) with a valid temporary resident status in Canada.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Federal Economic Priorities (Express Entry)<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/10\/breaking-canada-to-cut-immigration-by-20-in-2025-1047596.html#gs.iiyjen\">Immigration Levels Plan<\/a>, IRCC set a target for 41,700 permanent residence admissions under a Federal Economic category.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">This category makes up part of the Express Entry admissions targets.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">These Economic Priorities may be addressed through Canada\u2019s category-based draws, first launched in May 2023.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The levels plan specifically called out three categories as priorities in 2025:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Healthcare occupations;<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Trade occupations; and<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">French-language proficiency.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Candidates eligible for these categories may be more\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/11\/analysis-how-this-years-immigration-levels-plan-affects-the-chances-of-success-for-express-entry-candidates-1147971.html#gs.iiyw5x\">likely to receive ITAs in 2025<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #000000;\">BC\u2019s Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Stream<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">On June 21, British Columbia made the Entrepreneur Regional Pilot Program a permanent fixture in their\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.canadavisa.com\/provincial-nomination-program.html\">Provincial Nominee Program (PNP)<\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Now known as the\u00a0<a style=\"color: #000000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cicnews.com\/2024\/06\/british-columbia-makes-entrepreneur-regional-pilot-program-permanent-0644695.html#gs.iiyk48\">Entrepreneur Immigration Regional Stream<\/a>, this helps eligible newcomers looking to start a new business.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Interested candidates must visit the community they plan on running a business in, and also receive a community referral that allows them to register and apply under the EI stream.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Eligible communities include:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Cariboo region:<\/strong><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><\/li>\n<li><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><strong>Kootenay region<\/strong>:<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol>\n<li><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Castlegar &amp;
